WEBINAR | Biosphere Teacher's Guide Community Workshop

The GLOBE Implementation Office (GIO) invites members of the GLOBE community to join the first in a series of workshops to provide feedback as we begin the review and updates of the Biosphere Teacher's Guide and associated protocols. GLOBE community members with expertise in teaching or researching the biosphere using GLOBE protocols are encouraged to join us on Friday 17 January at 3:00 pm UTC (10:00 am ET) to share your knowledge and expertise.

During the community workshop, we will discuss and share ideas in breakout rooms with GLOBE International STEM Network (GISN) members and GLOBE Educators. Beginning in February we will schedule two community meetings each month, at different times, to accommodate different timezones. If you can't make the January workshop, there will be more opportunities to be involved in this important GLOBE work to provide input on Teachers Guide updates. We will distribute certificates of recognition when each protocol is completed. We welcome all community members who are interested to attend this working session!

Community Workshop Preparation

In preparation for the workshop, please review the Biosphere Introduction and leave comments and suggestions in this shared document prior to the workshop. To leave feedback on the shared document, please click "Add a comment" in the top right corner and highlight text to make suggestions, ask questions, clarify content, etc. If you are unable to access the shared document, please download the Biosphere Introduction for review and document your suggestions to share with the GIO.

Here are some items to consider as you review the Biosphere Introduction:

1. What needs to be clarified (instructions, science content, etc.)?

2. What needs to be updated?

3. What are your suggestions and ideas for new figures?

4. What are your suggestions for NASA resources to include?

5. Is there anything else that would make this a useful resource for educators?
